SdKfz 8/DB 10 “Lufcik” from Pilica river – Poland

"Lufcik" - a pearl from Pilica - is the modern name of a partially reconstructed and restored unique Luftwaffe artillery tractor, which on January 18, 1945 sank while trying to forcing the river, plunging into its sandy bottom. It is most likely one of the few prototype vehicles ever launched. Its history dates back to 1934, when a slingshot was taken over an armored artillery tractor that could drive a towed 88mm AA gun directly into the line of fire. At that time, an armored body made of steel plates 12 mm thick was built on the standard chassis of the SdKfz 8 / DB 10 tractor. These tractors did not enter mass production, but the copies made were used by the Luftwaffe troops at the end of the war on the Eastern Front. The "Lufcik", which has survived to this day, is just such a vehicle ...

Stug IV from Rgilewka River – Poland

There have been at least five attempts to extract the StuG. The first, in the 1950s, the Polish army tried to get to the wreckage, but nothing came of it. In 2006, another attempt was made, but it was only possible to extract the turret of the armored cannon, in 2008 another attempt was made, which was successful. The stug was excavated in Grzegorzewo from the Rgilewka River. Inside the STUG, 49 bullets and rifle cartridges were found, as well as a helmet, boots, STG 44, a pipe and cutlery, but no human remains were found. Reconstructed 7tp tank

Thanks to the elements and equipment of the Polish 7TP light tank that survived the war, gathered by Grzegorz Klimczak, its reconstruction began in 2006. In 2007, the original running gear of the tank was reconstructed from the preserved parts belonging to two examples. This year, a decision was also made to register the foundation in order to obtain additional funds for the reconstruction, as so far it has been financed from private funds of participants. In 2008, the hull of the tank was reconstructed from the original parts and the construction of the tower began, which, due to the lack of original elements, was built from scratch according to the preserved documentation. At the turn of 2008/2009, the engine and interior equipment were installed in the vehicle. The entire bod...

M42 75/18 self-propelled gun

Several photos of the M42 75/18 self-propelled gun found in 2000 in Rimini. The vehicle is essentially complete except for the left idler wheel which appears to have been stolen in the 1970s by workers who had to bury the SIP pipes. Vehicle blown up by an internal explosion that caused a fire. The floorboard was found to be detached, „bulged” outwards, the left side plate was evenly folded, and shell fragments were found in the upper door. The casamata and coffins were at the bottom of the opening, under the tram tracks. This was probably because these wrecks were then used to fill craters caused by artillery shells that hit the area hard during the final stages of the war. Since there is no sign of perforation, it can be assumed that the vehicle was sabotaged before it was abandon...
